Today, I introduce the inn and the village that Don Quixote visited.
Previous windmills and this inn cause me to intimately feel this novel.
今日は、ドン・キホーテが立ち寄った旅籠と村を紹介します。
前回の水車とこの旅籠は、この小説を身近なものにしてくれます。
＜ 2. a church and a road in Puerto Lapice village ＞
Upper fig.: Seeing the south side. This road arrives at Cordoba or Granada. The church is on the right.
Lower fig.: Seeing the north side. This road arrives at Consuegra and Madrid. The inn is on the left.
This village is along the old road that is in the south about 20 km away from the Congsuegra.
We dropped in here by a bathroom break.
This district is famous for the saffron of spices and very delicious fig chocolate.

この村はコンスエグラから２０ｋｍ南下した幹線道路沿いにあります。
ここにはトイレ休憩で立ち寄りました。
この地方は香辛料のサフランと大変美味しいイチジクチョコレートが有名です。

It is said that this inn was the place that Don Quixote stayed in and asked for the innkeeper to the appointment of the knight.
ここが小説の中で、ドン・キホーテが宿泊し、騎士の叙任を宿の主人に依頼した所だそうです。

White wall, red arch tile, agricultural machinery, and Don Quixote statue, these give the atmosphere of the novel very well.
白い壁、赤い丸瓦、農機具、ドン・キホーテ像が小説の雰囲気をよく出しています。

About Don Quixote
Don Quixote, Don Juan and Carmen are known well.
These were novels all set in Spain, and it filled with romance, daring act and passion.
Spanish writer Cervantes wrote novel “Don Quixote” at the first 17th century.
This is said to be the originator of the modern novel unlike previous knightly chivalry.
The time when Cervantes lived was a period that Spain began to decline from prosperity of the Age of Exploration to the defeat of Invincible Armada.
He got injured in the naval battle of Lepanto brought the victory to Spain, therefore he experienced hardships at last half of life.
He made the hero of the novel a knight of wilderness La Mancha, likened windmills to knighthood and jeered at it.
ドン・キホーテについて
ドン・キホーテ、ドン・ファン、カルメンは良く知られています。
すべてスペインを舞台にした小説で、荒唐無稽、破天荒、熱情がみなぎっています。
小説ドン・キホーテは、１７世紀初め、スペインの作家セルバンテスが書いた。
これはそれまでの騎士道物語と異なり、近代小説の祖と言われている。
セルバンテスが生きた時代、スペインは大航海時代の繁栄から無敵艦隊の敗北へと、凋落が始まった頃でした。
彼はスペイン勝利のレパントの海戦で負傷し、後半生、苦渋を舐めることになった。
彼は、小説の主人公を荒野ラ・マンチャの郷士にし、風車を騎士道に見立てて痛烈にからかった。

One church is seen in the village always, when we run in Spain.
I entered a church of the village for the first time.
スペインを走っていると村には必ず教会が一つ見えます。
初めて、村の教会に入りました。

An elderly woman came for worship.
It was bright although being small.
This time, I tasted an atmosphere of early modern village where breathing of Don Quixote would remain.
It becomes a continuous with the next time.
一人、年配の婦人が礼拝に来ておられました。
小さいながらも整った明るい教会でした。
今回は、ドン・キホーテの息づかいが残る近世の村の風情を味わった。
